Sous le ciel de Rouen

Un témoignage sur les bombardements alliés à l’aube et au crépuscule de la Bataille de Normandie.

Sous le Ciel de Rouen est un récit court en deux pages, qui ont été réalisées pour l’exposition C’est le débarquement ! (CHRD, Lyon, 12 juin 2014 – 4 janvier 2015). (Voir ce billet pour davantage de détails sur l’exposition.)

Le récit reprend principalement le témoignage indirect du jeune Gilbert Brentot, qui assista aux bombardements alliés sur Rouen en préambule et en clôture de la bataille de Normandie. Il est également complété d’autres éléments de témoignage glanés dans la littérature ou en ligne, concernant les évènements rouennais de la « Semaine Rouge » ou le bombardement du 25 août 1944.

The story is mainly based on the reported testimony of the young Gilbert Brentot, who witnessed the allied bombings that rained down on Rouen at the dawn and at the dusk of the Normandy battle. It is also completed with other accounts found in the literature or online, concerning the events of the Rouen « Red Week » or the bombing of August 25th 1944.}
